The CORC is home to The Veronica Atkins Lifestyle Intervention Laboratory generously funded by The Dr. Robert C. and Veronica Atkins Foundation.

This laboratory hosts a fitness center with aerobic and strength training equipment, donated by Michael Garvey, CEO of The Dumbbell Man Fitness Equipment & Concept 2 Rowing, Inc. The exercise facility is used to conduct fitness testing and classes, which includes circuit training and strength training interventions. Our laboratory is also outfitted with a fully equipped kitchen for holding nutrition and cooking classes. Here our research participants learn to cook healthy, accessible and simple meals for themselves.

Our facility also includes DEXA and Bod Pod machines, used for measuring body composition. We also have a quiet interview room, ideal for interventions involving motivational interviewing and guided imagery sessions as well as observational studies as the room is equipped with a 1-way observation window. Another feature of our facility is a phlebotomy station used for collecting participant blood samples.

Our laboratory is available to conduct testing for outside groups and individuals.
